READING READINESS & EMERGENT LITERACY
Early childhood intervention services provide an essential boost for those ready to "take off" in reading, as well as support for children struggling with emergent reading skills. Using structured literacy instruction grounded in the Orton-Gillingham approach, I help young children thrive and become confident readers, writers, and learners through explicit lessons, developmentally appropriate games, and engaging children's literature. Students develop critical skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing through activities that promote phonological awareness, oral language, the alphabetic principle, phonics, and emergent writing.

DID YOU KNOW?
Effective teaching methods in language and literacy at an early age can help mitigate the impact of risk factors such as poor educational experiences, language delay, and family history of a reading disability.

GETTING STARTED
Begin with a complimentary 15-minute phone call to discuss your goals for emergent literacy skills and orient you to my practice. If my expertise aligns with your needs, I'll send intake forms for a diagnostic assessment.

EARLY SCREENING
The first step in working together is a 1-hour diagnostic assessment, which includes a language/literacy screening and needs analysis. The data is used to create an individualized learning plan tailored to your child. You'll receive a brief written report outlining the skills to be followed during treatment along with specific goals.
